Madhu’s of Mayfair

Madhu’s of Mayfair is a venue that simply needs to be seen to be believed. Located at 21 Piccadilly Mayfar, within The Dilly. You are treated to the best hospitality anyone could ask for. On arrival you are greeted by the most hospitable reception that encourages you to sit back and take in the atmosphere in the Bar/lounge area before your meal.

To say the décor is extravagant is certainly an understatement, because upon entering your eyes are immediately drawn up to the beautiful crystal chandeliers that suspend from the most ornate plaster work I have seen in London, you feel you are transported back to the time of the Raj, which is very apt as you certainly feel like you are treated like a King or Queen.

Within the bar area you will find an extensive list of soft and alcoholic beverages, those who love cocktails will be in heaven as the list is endless and made from the freshest ingredients, providing something special for everyone. On sampling some of what is on offer we can say that no one will be disappointed with your drinks or the service, you will be treated like a king or queen, and nothing is of too much trouble for any of the staff.

bar, its time to be seated at your table and again your eyes are drawn to the sheer decadence of the building, this is without a doubt the most beautiful building I have had the pleasure to dine in. For starters freshly made poppadom’s and papad were provided along with exquisite sides of mango chutney, mint and tomato salsa.

For starters we picked a selection of staff favourites, including their succulent Murgh Tikka, which is a traditionally spiced and marinated chicken thigh, chargrilled on the Robata grill along with Seekh Kebabs which were outstanding and simply was to die for! Along with chili and garlic prawns, which were the biggest king prawns I have seen, they tasted wonderful and fragrant from the garlic, red chilies and lime, certainly dishes to tantalise the taste buds!

It is at this point, I must point out the attention to detail, every moment our glasses were near empty they were replenished, be that the Voss water for the table or our Rosé wine and any questions we had about the dishes, how they are cooked, prepared and served was handled in the most professional manner. Everything about Madhu’s screams luxury hospitality, from the glassware to staff uniforms everything has its place and is treated with the upmost respect and dignity.

Whilst we had a slight rest from the most wonderful starters, it was then time for the main courses, we chose the Prawn Moilee Curry, Murgh Makhani along with Mutter Pilau rice followed by a garlic Naan. The Prawn Moilee was simply the best seafood dish I have eaten in a very long time, succulent king prawns braised in a rich creamy coconut curry which was mildly spiced with fresh turmeric, ginger, mustard seeds and curry leaves, this dish was phenomenal and paired with Mutter Pilau made it a pure joy to eat, with every mouthful tasting a good as the first, it truly was an exceptional dish.

Grilled tandoori chicken tikkas, simmered in a buttery tomato sauce, flavoured with fenugreek and finished with cream this lightly spiced dish proved to be an excellent choice for my partner who prefers less spice and really showed off the skills of the chefs behind Madhu’s.

After tasting some of the best dishes we have ever eaten, it was then time for dessert, wow they did not disappoint! They are presented most beautifully and a special mention has to be said about their Gajar Ka Halwa & Badam, it looked exceptional and tasted wonderful. To have a very traditional dessert such as this sweet halwa, which is made from carrots, milk and cream and garnished with pistachios, this was the best way to end such an incredible night of Punjabi cuisine.

To round up the review of Madhu’s of Mayfair, I can say that the whole experience is simply the most luxurious dining experience anyone could have. The food is wholeheartedly the best curry I have ever eaten, I would suggest that anyone who loves Punjabi cuisine to not go to your “local” and waste money, when for the same price you can simply have THE BEST from Madhu’s. Honestly, save your money and travel to Mayfair and prepare yourself to be indulged with the sheer opulent décor, luxurious service and the most hospitable staff in London.

I would say Madhu’s of Mayfair is the place to dine and can see it become the new hot spot for all in London and it deserves it, because it is honestly the best in the business and I would highly recommend and encourage all to visit and book a table via:
