The Royal Horseguards Hotel
The Royal Horseguards Hotel combines Victorian grandeur with elegance, providing first-class hospitality to its guests. Located in the heart of London on the River Thames at Embankment, the hotel’s charm and historical significance sets it apart from the rest, catering to those seeking a unique and memorable experience in the city.
Just a stone’s throw away from Embankment, Big Ben and the South Bank, The Royal Horseguards Hotel provides guests with an idyllic location for restoration, while being in easy walking distance from all the iconic city sites. The grand exterior showcases its striking Victorian architecture, with beautiful stonework and intricate details making The Royal Horseguards Hotel an unmissable sight.

Boasting a rich history dating back to the 19th century, originally built as the National Liberal Club in 1884, the building was later converted into a hotel in the early 20th Century.
Over the years, it has hosted prominent figures and events, adding to its legacy as a distinguished landmark in London. The hotel has been featured in award winning movies including Skyfall, starring Daniel Craig, as well as the Elephant Man and the Constant Gardener.
The hotel was the backdrop for some of the most important meetings in World War Two, with the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, often visiting with government colleagues, and the hotel even has secret tunnels once used by the wartime PM.

Guests can get a glimpse of this history by journeying down to the original wine cellar, which is used for private dining experiences today. It hosts a number of historical treasures, including the original machinery that was developed to bring the beer barrels into the building, and the old fuse box that is of the same original design used on the Titanic. It’s an intimate space for events hire as the hustle and bustle of the capital seems lightyears away, and this paired with our best-in-class service makes for an unforgettable evening.
The meeting and event spaces at The Royal Horseguards Hotel are known for their elegance and versatility. They offer a range of beautifully appointed rooms that can accommodate various types of gatherings, from intimate meetings to grand events. The hotel boasts a large array of event spaces under the One Whitehall Place building (twelve in total), with four of the rooms licensed for civil ceremonies. With elegant Victorian structures, ornate sculptured ceilings, and gorgeous chandeliers, this Grade II venue is popular venue choice for special occasions such as weddings.
The Reading & Writing Room, the largest of the events spaces, can host up to 300 guests and showcases some of London’s best views with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the River Thames and London Eye.
The hotel’s attention to detail and luxurious surroundings creates a perfect setting for any occasion – whether you are hosting a large conference, a business meeting, or a special occasion, the hotel has a selection of sophisticated rooms that provide modern amenities to ensure a successful event.
Along with its elegant décor, guests can enjoy the exquisite food and drink offerings at The Royal Horseguards Hotel. There are four F&B spaces for guests to choose from including the Eqqus Bar, One Twenty One Two restaurant, The Lounge and The Terrace, all offering a variety of delicious food and drink options on their menu.
