The Alpine A110S Reivew
Unleashing Excitement in Sunburnt Orange
In the realm of captivating sports cars that blend precision engineering with exhilarating performance, the Alpine A110S emerges as a standout contender. Nestled in the niche of high-performance compact coupes, this Sunburnt Orange marvel is a head-turner in every sense, boasting a blend of agility, power, and eye-catching aesthetics that set it apart in a world of automotive excellence.
Let's begin with the visual spectacle that is the Alpine A110S. Finished in a resplendent Sunburnt Orange hue, this miniature supercar exudes a charismatic charm that is hard to ignore. The colour choice isn't just bold; it's a statement—an embodiment of spirited driving and unapologetic style – I’m sure it looks amazing in blue too!
The A110S design strikes a delicate balance between classic elegance and modern flair. The sleek silhouette, punctuated by subtle curves and contours, hints at its aerodynamic efficiency. Every detail is meticulously crafted from the distinctive LED headlights that pierce the night to the central exhaust pipe that announces its presence.
Under the lightweight aluminium bodywork lies the heart of a true performance machine. The turbocharged 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine packs a punch, delivering an impressive 300 horsepower to the rear wheels. This power translates into blistering acceleration—0 to 60 mph in a mere 4.2 seconds—catapulting the A110S into supercar territory.
What truly sets the A110S apart, however, is its handling prowess. Alpine's engineers have honed the chassis and suspension to perfection, ensuring razor-sharp responsiveness through every twist and turn. The car feels planted and poised, dancing effortlessly through corners with precise steering feedback that connects the driver to the road – this really is a true driver’s car.
Slip behind the wheel, and you're instantly enveloped in a cockpit designed for the driving enthusiast. Its snug, supportive bucket seats hold you firmly in place, inviting you to embrace the road ahead. While the interior is a gorgeous blend of elegance and purpose, with premium materials adorning every surface of carbon fibre, aluminium and alcantara, it’s the perfect match.
Start the engine with a push of a button and the A110S comes alive with a purposeful growl that will put a smile on anyone’s face and will leave the driver grinning for hours. The throttle response is immediate, urging you to explore its limits, but not so aggressive that you can’t drive this as your everyday car or across country roads.
The dual-clutch transmission delivers seamless gear changes, allowing you to focus on the sheer joy of driving. Another thing that Alpine has got so right is that on days when you just want to sit back and enjoy you can leave the car in automotive and enjoy the drive and get incredible MPG, in our review we were constantly seeing an average of around 45MPG, I think that’s astonishing!
However, for those that seek adventure, I highly encourage you to use the F1-style paddle shifters in Sport mode and then this car really comes alive, even changing to sportier attire via its digital display to make you feel like you’re in a race car on the road. It’s a small detail that has a massive impact when you want your drive to be exhilarating.

On the open road, the A110S shines. Its nimble chassis and balanced weight distribution make it a joy to carve through winding corners. The suspension, tuned for spirited driving, strikes a fine balance between comfort and sportiness, soaking up imperfections while keeping the car planted through aggressive manoeuvres, but giving you enough feedback that you can feel the road underneath you, many tuned sportier variants get this wrong, but I can say Alpine has nailed it here.
As you push harder, the A110S rewards you with confidence-inspiring grip and feedback. It encourages you to push the limits, rewarding precise inputs with thrilling dynamics. This is a car that begs to be driven, delivering a level of engagement rarely found in today's automotive landscape.
Despite its focused performance ethos, the A110S doesn't skimp on creature comforts. The infotainment system, while minimalist, offers essential features without distracting from the driving experience. Connectivity options also keep you in touch with the outside world thanks to Android Auto, while the premium audio system fills the cabin with crisp sound.
Creature comforts such as climate control and supportive seating ensure that longer journeys remain enjoyable. The focus remains on the driver, with ergonomics designed to enhance the driving experience rather than detract from it.
To conclude this review I would say the Alpine A110S is a revelation in the realm of compact sports cars, in fact, I’d go as far as to say this is a supercar in miniature. Its Sunburnt Orange exterior is more than a colour of choice; it's a reflection of the excitement that awaits behind the wheel. Priced competitively under £60,000, or in our case, just over £70,000 for enhanced specifications GT Wheel etc, it represents exceptional value in the market.
For enthusiasts seeking the most thrilling driving experience in a subcompact package, the A110S stands out as a compelling choice. It combines breathtaking performance, captivating design, and everyday usability in a way that few cars can match.
This miniature supercar is not just a head-turner, it's a symphony of driving pleasure that leaves an indelible mark on anyone lucky enough to experience it and we highly recommend you do!
