The Gallery at The Savoy:

A Culinary Masterpiece for Every Occasion

Nestled within the historic walls of The Savoy, The Gallery stands as the hotel’s newest and most exciting dining destination, unveiled as part of its 135th-anniversary celebrations. While The Savoy has long been synonymous with luxury and sophistication, The Gallery elevates the experience to a new level, making it not just a dining spot but a space designed for everyone—families, friends, and romantic couples alike. From its innovative menu to its captivating ambience, The Gallery is more than just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of the culinary arts and the joy of togetherness.

Dining at The Gallery is a testament to The Savoy’s commitment to hospitality and inclusivity. During our visit, we dined under the wonderfully mood-lit ceiling in a cosy booth with our young daughter. From the moment we arrived, the staff exuded professionalism and charisma. They went above and beyond to make her feel included, offering dining suggestions tailored to her taste and treating her with the same respect and attention as any other guest. Their warm embrace of families sets The Gallery apart, demonstrating that luxury dining need not be exclusive.

The menu at The Gallery pays tribute to Auguste Escoffier, The Savoy’s legendary chef and one of the most influential figures in the culinary world. His legacy is woven into the fabric of the menu, which combines traditional recipes with contemporary flair. From the outset, the sharing plates set the tone for a communal dining experience.  We highly recommend the Rhug Estate beef carpaccio or the delicious Savoy croque monsieur with truffle cheese and Wiltshire ham. For those looking for bigger plates to share, everything under the” Big Plates” section sounded simply wonderful. We chose the chalk stream trout with charcoal-grilled pak choi and miso glaze, which was simply the most wonderful fish dish I ever sampled. We must also pay homage to the Rhug Estate rib eye which was a total delight to eat, and everyone at the table enjoyed very much.

No meal at The Gallery would be complete without exploring its dessert menu. With options as indulgent as Kent apple crumble and The Gallery mille-feuille with Tahitian vanilla Chantilly cream and salted caramel, it’s hard to choose just one. The towering ice cream sundaes, prepared tableside with theatrical flair, are a particular hit with younger diners, as our daughter can happily attest. Each dessert is a work of art, blending classic techniques with modern creativity. As the day transitions into night, The Gallery transforms. The atmosphere becomes more intimate, with the bar taking centre stage. Signature cocktails such as the British Negroni and the New Fashioned offer a sophisticated way to unwind.

The Gallery's interior design reflects its dual commitment to grandeur and comfort. The mood-lit ceiling creates an inviting ambience, while cosy booths offer a sense of intimacy. Attention to detail extends to every aspect of the decor, with a harmonious blend of classic and contemporary elements that mirror the culinary philosophy. What truly sets The Gallery apart is its ability to cater to a diverse audience without compromising on quality or experience. It’s rare to find a luxury restaurant that welcomes families with open arms, yet The Gallery achieves this effortlessly. Our daughter was not just a spectator but an active participant in the dining experience, thanks to the staff’s thoughtful engagement and genuine enthusiasm. This inclusivity makes The Gallery an ideal choice for celebrations, whether it’s a romantic dinner for two, a family gathering, or a reunion with friends.

The Gallery at The Savoy is not just a place to dine; it’s a destination that celebrates the art of food and the joy of togetherness. With its inventive menu, impeccable service, and welcoming atmosphere, it redefines what luxury dining can be. Whether you’re a connoisseur of fine cuisine or simply looking for a memorable meal with loved ones, The Gallery promises an experience that lingers long after the last bite. It’s a space where history and innovation converge, offering something for everyone to savour.
