The Return of Mayfair’s Exclusive Cocktail Lounge

London, United Kingdom: On 9th April 2025, 42 at Gymkhana reopens its doors, reintroducing Mayfair to one of the city’s most exclusive cocktail lounges. An extension of Gymkhana, JKS Restaurants’ two Michelin-starred Indian restaurant, 42 offers an elevated cocktail experience in the heart of Mayfair on Albemarle Street. Following a period of reimagining, 42 will continue to serve as an intimate cocktail lounge while also unveiling a new offering as an ultra-private dining destination for special occasions and events, allowing guests to experience Gymkhana in an opulent and discrete setting.

Echoing the owners private quarters of India’s exclusive gymkhana clubs, 42 at Gymkhana maintains its signature luxurious aesthetic. Guests will be welcomed into the Mayfair townhouse through its own street entrance (adjacent to Gymkhana’s) and led up the staircase into the lounge, where low lighting, soft furnishings, and a striking collection of art and design elements will set the tone for an evening enjoying world-class cocktail creations from the team.

More than just a cocktail lounge, 42 at Gymkhana is a hideaway in Mayfair, perfect for both an early evening drink and a nightcap later into the evening. Open until 2 AM on weekends, the lounge will feature curated DJ sets every Friday and Saturday from 10 PM to 2 AM, setting the mood for a seamless transition from drinks to a livelier late-night atmosphere.

The space will continue to serve its signature cocktails alongside a brand-new selection of drinks, marking the first time that Gymkhana’s cocktail list will be available beyond the restaurant itself, including the Royal Bombay Yacht Club, a blend of Hennessy VSOP, Tanqueray gin, Cloud Tea, strawberry, lemon juice, and Philippe Gonet NV Champagne; the Pegu Club, made with Porter’s Tropical Gin, grapefruit sherbet, lime, Campari, and Sabro hops; and the Jal Jeera, an aromatic mix of Macallan Double Cask 12yo, Somerset Apple EDV, chaat masala bitters, and ginger ale. Alongside this, 42’s signature cocktails will include the Bagheera, the Bhang Lassi and the Clarified Lychee Martini.

Guests can also now enjoy an exclusive selection of small plates and bitings from Gymkhana while at 42. Highlights of the bitings menu include Aloo Papads with Dill Raita, Punjabi Samosas with Imli Saunth Chutney, Amritsari Shrimp & Queenies and Patiala Fried Chicken served with Imli and Mint Chutney.

Beyond its cocktail lounge offering, 42 at Gymkhana now introduces a bespoke private dining experience that accommodates up to 16 guests, transforming the space into an opulent setting for exclusive dinners, celebrations, and high-profile gatherings, with its own street entrance, private bar, and tailored menus.

Additionally, standing cocktail parties of up to 55 guests, where food menus reflect Gymkhana’s signature dishes in canape form, offer a private and glamourous landscape for late nights in the heart of Mayfair.
