London’s Best Kept Five-Star Secret

In a neighbourhood known for bustling roads full of tourists, grand hotels and polished façades, Flemings Mayfair manages to feel like a well kept secret.

Opened in 1851 and originally created from 13 Georgian townhouses, Flemings Mayfair is one of London’s oldest family-owned hotels. Behind its elegant exterior lies a characterful blend of heritage architecture and contemporary luxury, with stylish rooms, apartment-style suites and attentive service. Its location is equally appealing. Buckingham Palace, Bond Street and Green Park are all within walking distance, yet the hotel itself feels worlds away from the rush of central London.

At the heart of the property is Ormer Mayfair, the Michelin-starred restaurant led by Executive Chef Sofian Msetfi. Known for elegant, ingredient-driven cooking, the restaurant has developed a reputation for delivering exceptional fine dining in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

This Mother’s Day, Ormer is offering a particularly special reason to visit. On Sunday 15 March, from 12:30 - 2pm, the restaurant will host an exclusive Mother’s Day lunch - the perfect setting to really spoil loved ones.

Priced at £100 per person, the menu offers a rare chance to experience Michelin-starred fare at an unexpectedly accessible price. The afternoon begins with canapés and warm semolina sourdough served with extra virgin olive oil and honey butter, before guests choose between ravioli of quail with black truffle and sauce Albufera or a delicate langoustine and leek terrine topped with prized N25 Oscietra caviar.

For the main course, rack of cumbrian lamb is complemented with cucumber, wasabi and lime, whilst the poached Cornish turbot arrives with Wye Valley asparagus, morels, wild garlic and vin jaune. Guests are then spoilt for choice with a decadent dessert - salted caramel tart with Tahitian vanilla ice cream, with the option to add Ormer’s much-loved cheese trolley for a £20 supplement. Signature (£100) and Prestige (£180) wine pairings are also available for those wishing to elevate the experience further.

To end the afternoon, slip into Manetta’s Bar, the hotel’s intimate cocktail lounge, where plush velvet seating, rose-gold accents and low lighting channel the glamour of 1930s Mayfair. Once a favourite haunt for writers and artists, the bar still carries a quietly sophisticated vibe, making it the perfect place to toast to mum after lunch - a fitting end to a memorable Mother’s Day celebration.
