Introduced in 1969, the TAG Heuer Monaco broke traditional watchmaking codes and became one of the most emblematic watches in history. Back then, its bold, square shape, left crown and signature blue dial were unlike anything else on the market. Now synonymous with the brand, it has also become an industry favorite, amassing a following among racing enthusiasts and watch lovers alike.

The TAG Heuer Monaco's heritage has continuously been linked to motor racing and the history of cinema, notably through its association withactor Steve McQueen. In the film “Le Mans” of 1971, McQueen's character sported a Monaco, cementing its status as an icon of style and a cornerstone of motor racing culture.

Beyond its cinematic fame, the TAG Heuer Monaco has continually evolved with each iteration building upon the last, refining the precision and distinctive design that define this iconic model. When the Sun Goes Down, the Race Begins

The TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph captures the unique atmosphere of racing after dark - where performance becomes theatre and speed roars through neon-lit streets. The design draws from the world of Formula 1® night races, where every lap is framed by high-speed motion and sharp contrasts. With this new limited edition, the TAG Heuer Monaco leans into its role as a symbol of those who defy convention. Its visual language is heightened by dramatic colors, architectural depth, and striking finishing. The 39mm case is crafted in black DLC-coated titanium, making it both lightweight and resilient. 

At the center, a skeletonized dial reveals the inner mechanics while transitioning through a vivid gradient from violet to deep blue, echoing the descent from twilight into full night and capturing the mood of the city as it shifts into race mode.

Revealing its true personality in the dark, the timepiece shines bright thanks to its various Super-LumiNova® accents. Blue highlights the chronograph complication and its turquoise hands. Green Super-LumiNova® refers to time reading with the black-gold hour and minute hands. A green SLN date revealer complements the open-worked date disc, ensuring optimal visibility in low light. The skeletonized arches shine from within,with purple Super-LumiNova® within the minute track and blue SLN on the outer edge, creating a layered luminous effect with three distinct nighttime tones.

On the caseback, the sapphire crystal is finished with an iridescent metallization, ranging from blue to purple and extending the dial's color palette. It creates a seamless chromatic experience that subtly shifts with light, reinforcing the connection between design and motion.

Powering the timepiece is the in-house automatic Calibre TH20-00, designed for accuracy and long-lasting performance. The movement and its inner workings are visible through both the skeletonized dial and a sapphire caseback, giving enthusiasts a clear view of the engineering at play. Completing the piece is a strap combining black rubber and embossed calfskin, accented by purple stitching that ties into the color story of the dial.

Each piece of this new limited edition is individually numbered as one of just 600 pieces. It is presented in a specifically designed TAG Heuer Monaco packaging with matching purple accents.
