ACOSTA TEQUILA MAKES ITS ARRIVAL IN THE UK

A NEW EXPRESSION OF LUXURY AND CRAFT

Acosta Tequila has arrived in the UK, raising the spirit of Britain's tequila landscape through deep reverence for the craft, heritage and artistry behind one of Mexico's most storied spirits. Founded by Frank Acosta as a tribute to his Mexican heritage, the tequila house offers a rare founder-led authenticity in a category increasingly dominated by celebrity labels and global spirits conglomerates.

Created in partnership with a family-owned estate in Jalisco, Mexico, Acosta combines generational craft with a modern design sensibility, shaped by Frank Acosta’s own journey of reconnecting with his roots in the region. Every element is conceived with that same quiet intention, and nowhere more visibly than in the bottle itself, which stands tall as a sculptural tribute to Mesoamerican architecture, and the ancient cultural landscape where tequila was born.

Crafted in Jalisco using 100 per cent Blue Weber agave harvested at peak maturity, Acosta follows time-honoured production methods from beginning to end. Where many brands rely on industrial autoclaves to hasten the process, Acosta slow-cooks its agave piñas for 42 hours in stone ovens, preserving the plant's natural sweetness through gradual caramelisation, deepening flavours into notes of brûléed honey and earth. No added sugar, no chemicals, no shortcuts. Fermentation relies solely on the plant's own natural yeast, which is why a glass of Acosta carries the unmistakable, unaffected aroma of Jalisco's red volcanic soils. Yet honouring tradition does not preclude innovation. Acosta’s distillation culminates in ageing within French cognac barrels, a technique more commonly associated with fine brandy, drawing out the spirit’s natural potential for exceptional depth and richness. To ensure exactly the right aromas make it into every glass, Frank personally travels to Europe to hand-select each barrel himself. Because for Acosta, every detail is proof that exceptional tequila is made, not marketed.

The collection presents a spectrum of characters across four distinct expressions. The Joven is bright, vibrant, and full-bodied, with citrus lift, herbal freshness, and agave-forward character. The Reposado is silky and smooth, with a deep golden “oro” hue, revealing a softer, layered profile with gentle warmth and rich floral, spicy, and toasted-oak notes of caramel. The Añejo, rich in character with exceptional smoothness, depth and a lasting finish, offers a deeper, more contemplative expression, layered with roasted agave, smooth vanilla and a long, elegant finish.

Completing the collection is the Extra Añejo, an exceptionally limited release of just 300 bottles. First laid down in 2019, the expression develops remarkable depth and richness, revealing natural notes of warming nutmeg, dark chocolate, and smooth vanilla. Each bottle is crafted by hand, reflecting the same spirit of refined expertise and quiet intention that defines the tequila within.

Sustainability and stewardship remain central to the brand’s philosophy. By working with a family-owned estate and environmentally certified facilities, Acosta supports local industry and environmentally conscious production. Its jaguar emblem carries both cultural reverence and ecological responsibility, reflecting strength, focus and self-possession.

Already flowing through the bars and lounges of iconic hotels, celebrated fine-dining restaurants and members’ clubs across North America, Acosta now makes its mark on the UK. The launch comes as tequila continues to gain momentum across the UK, as consumer interest shifts away from mass production, towards the inherent premium and integrity of craft expressions. Against this backdrop, Acosta enters as a distinctive new voice, one rooted not in celebrity or spectacle, but in the heritage and time-honoured artistry of a tequila well made.

All expressions are available in 750ml bottles, and prices range from £134 to £691. Acosta Tequila is available at selected locations across London and directly via the brand’s website at www.acostatequila.com
